Class 3 Carding Mill Valley

Class recently visited Carding Mill Valley for an engaging educational trip. During the visit, they explored the stream to search for invertebrates, which were then brought back to the laboratory for identification. Students also collaborated to measure the stream’s velocity by timing how long it took a cork to travel ten metres.

The trip concluded with a walk through the surrounding hills, offering students the opportunity to observe and appreciate the local landscape. The day was enhanced by favorable weather, making the experience both enjoyable and educational.

Reception Ash End House Farm

Reception students recently enjoyed a full day of hands-on learning and exploration at Ash End House Farm. The visit began with a guided tour, during which students had the opportunity to feed the sheep and goats. A special highlight was feeding Leonard the lamb with his bottle of milk.

The group also visited the hatchery, where they met baby chicks and each child selected an egg from the nest boxes to take home. Following a packed lunch in the barn, students explored the “Creepy Critters” exhibit, meeting a snake and a bearded dragon named Spike. The day concluded with a tour of the bird sanctuary, where students observed eagles, hawks, and owls.

The trip offered an engaging and memorable experience, providing students with hands-on interaction with animals and nature, and was an excellent opportunity for learning beyond the classroom.

 UKS2 Frank Chapman Residential 2025

Pupils in Class 5 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed their residential trip to the Frank Chapman Centre, taking part in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities. Students experienced challenges in the mine, navigated the high ropes course, created forest art, and completed geocaching tasks, as well as enjoying a guided night walk.

The trip offered an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop independence, resilience, and teamwork skills, while enjoying hands-on learning in a stimulating outdoor environment.
